American White Pelican Sometimes serendipity makes for great photographs. While intending to drive to coastal Florida to photograph shorebirds, I was fortunate enough to be able to capture these two American White Pelicans in flight while there was a lull in shorebird activity. I really wanted to have the wings in a symmetrical position while in flight so I used my motor drive to capture as many images as possible in the short time that I had the birds in front of me. As chance would have it, I took enough pictures to get one that had both birds with wings in the downstroke position.
