Osprey
*Yawn* I watched this Burrowing Owl perch outside of its burrow for some time before it started throwing its head back and yawning. I though an image of the yawn would be quite comical when the action was frozen in time.
Great Blue Heron This Great Blue Heron was perched in a tree top and preening for several minutes. I was looking for a portrait shot in this case and waited for the bird to pause preening and look at me before I took the picture.
Northern Shoveler These Shovelers were foraging in a small flock of about 10 birds. Ocassionally, one individual would break away from the rest of the group and I could isolate it without the other birds distracting in the foreground or background.
Great Blue Heron Plumage Detail It was enjoayable photographing the plumage on this displaying Great Blue Heron. It displayed around me for about 20 minutes and I was able to capture several different compositions of the feather detail.
